About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Planning & Reporting Minerals Americas, this role has broad remit with responsibility for delivering consolidated Minerals Americas management reporting activities in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with BHP policies, procedures, standards and in adherence to corporate governance requirements. This role has exposure to a wide-range of stakeholders through co-ordinating the integration of region-wide Finance deliverables, driving delivery of the Planning & Reporting team’s continuous improvement agenda and uplifting team capability through coaching other team members.
Main Accountabilities
In this role, you will:
- Support the Manager Planning & Reporting to deliver on the Finance purpose: “We partner with the business to create and protect value”.
- Support the preparation and review of all consolidated Minerals Americas internal management reporting deliverables including monthly performance reporting to the Minerals Americas Leadership Team (MALT) and Group Reporting, quarterly forecasts and Corporation Alignment Planning (CAP) requirements including the 2YB submission.
- Support the preparation and review of all consolidated Minerals Americas disclosures for external reporting purposes including quarterly operational reviews, half year and full year financial reporting and annual reporting suite.
- Support the adoption of PowerBI and other technologies for the Minerals Americas region, influencing opportunities to automate existing reporting/analysis and managing improvements to uplift this capability across the team.
- Identify areas for process improvement and re-design processes accordingly.
- Gain support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.
- Plan, track the delivery of and manage ad-hoc projects to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.
- Train, coach and develop less senior team members to uplift capability within team.
- Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
- Demonstrate an ability to understand commercial decision drivers and how to generate data and insights to shape decision making, and present it in an easily digestible manner.
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Our Requirements, Code of Conduct and relevant management reporting obligations.
- Maintain an overriding commitment to health and safety.
- Know our customer and be obsessed with meeting their needs.
About You
To be a top performer you will need:
- Bachelor degree in business or related discipline or relevant experience.
- Ability to deliver without relying on formal hierarchical structures.
- Fluent English (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated leadership skills in complex, dynamic environment with extensive experience in stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of financial and commercial management concepts.
- Relevant industry experience.
Desirable:
- MBA or other post graduate qualifications preferred but not essential.
- Spanish language skills advantageous but not essential.
