About the Role

 

Reporting to the Manager– MinAu Mobile Equipment, this role leads a team that builds and manages strategic supplier relations that deliver value to our Assets across Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional looking to join a diverse and high performing team in a leadership capacity. In this role, you will need to navigate ambiguity but the performance of your suppliers will have an impact on the budget and productivity of the assets that you support. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Provide strategic procurement and Contract Owner support throughout the contract life-cycle, working closely with Contract Owners, Assets and Functions
  • Act as an escalation to resolve complex problems and disputes  
  • Build strong, trusted, relationships with leaders in key assets and with suppliers
  • Analyse key trends, emerging risks, new technologies and sustainability opportunities to develop and vet procurement strategies  
  • Drive collaboration by participating in cross-functional teams to identify and execute opportunities to reduce TCO and mitigate safety risks
  • Understand the Voice of the Customer - Identify opportunities to embed improvements whilst delivering in accordance to governance requirements, operational plans and BHP’s purpose and Values. 
  • Manage team delivery of KPIs 

 

About You

 

  • Strong commercial acumen to understand and deliver savings and performance improvements 
  • Demonstrated experience in senior procurement roles in complex organisations 
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders (including senior leadership) across multiple geographical regions and assets 
  • Identifies risks and appropriate commercial control options  
  • Exercises sound judgement, critical thinking, validate assumptions and understand stakeholder requirements 
  • Approaches work with a strategic, growth mind-set including the ability to identify new opportunities and drive them to implementation 
  • Position location: Brisbane
