About the Role

 

Leads a team of project cost and schedule specialists, monitoring and managing team performance and contributing technical project controls expertise. As a working lead you will also execute technical requirements of the Cost Engineering and/or planning and scheduling role.

 

  • Leads in the development and monitoring of plans and schedules, baselines, activity completion, identification of schedule trends and corrective/preventative actions to influence on-time delivery of the project’s objective/s.
  • Leads development of original budgets, maintenance of the control budget, tracking commitments, estimation of accruals, monitoring the impact of changes and identification of trends and corrective/preventive actions to influence on-budget delivery of the projects objectives.
  • Monitor team performance and implement actions to ensure adherence to service level agreement. 
  • Manage stakeholder expectation through proactive customer engagement and receiving feedback. 
  • Manages escalations and ensuring resolutions are provided in timely manner. 
  • Provide leadership and ensure compliance on governance and reporting in accordance to guideline. 
  • Unlock team potential by driving improvement through BOS routines.Discover training needs and provide coaching to team members. 
  • Effectively communicates with all stakeholders, including internal and external customers. 
  • Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision-making, productivity and value chain performance.   
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.   
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs. 
     

About You

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a business/trade-related discipline or demonstrated equivalent business experience
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills including organising and analyzing multiple data sources.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), collaboration and interpersonal skills and able to work autonomously
  • Previous commercial, project management or quantity surveying experience on capital projects in the mining, resources or oil and gas industry would be well regarded  
  • Project management software experience with applications such as Stature, Aconex, Acumen Fuse, Ecosys
