About the Role

We are seeking Lead Project/Portfolio Delivery for multiple roles and sites across BMA. This role will see you provide leadership and functional expertise to drive world class delivery of the BMA capital portfolio and deliver projects across the broader BMA Assets. Reporting to the Superintendent Mods & Ops Projects, you will be responsible for the safe and predictable delivery of the capital portfolio for engineering projects as part of the BMA Engineering Team.

There are currently multiple roles available across our BMA operations, working Monday to Friday, offering flexible working arrangements.

Empowering people and achieving project success is the key requirement of this role. As the Lead Project/Portfolio Delivery, you'll be the driving force behind the portfolio to ensure it is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You'll develop strategies for execution, quality and consistency, lead assurance activities, and foster improvements across our delivery teams. Working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, you will engage with Project Delivery Teams to support full project life cycle and work with various functions to achieve project objectives.

In this role you will:
 

  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainability.
  • Provide leadership and support to a team of project specialists throughout project lifecycles, focusing on the governance and execution of investment strategies, standards / frameworks, integration and interface management.
  • Monitor and manage portfolio performance to identify critical activities, monitor the portfolio plan/schedule and drive continuous improvement initiatives to deliver the capital portfolio in line with safety standards, scope, quality requirements, and budget. 
  • Identify and assess risks, making risk informed decisions using BHP's risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes. 
  • Maintain oversight to ensure that projects are executed in compliance with both internal and external governance processes and Our Requirements.
  • Lead the creation of an environment in which lessons learned and external best practices are part of the operational processes and identify capital efficiency initiatives and productivity improvements.
  • Implement positive communication and cultural processes to support project and operational outcomes.

About You

You will have: 
 

  • Significant Project Management experience, preferably via delivery of multi-disciplinary investments.
  • Advanced safety leadership expertise with proven commitment to safety and sustainability.
  • Degree qualified in STEM.
  • Lead by example; confidence, resilience and determination to hold yourself and others accountable.
  • Mature negotiation, mentoring and coaching skills that support a high performing team built on a learning mind-set.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
