About the Role
Copper is critical to a sustainable future, and BHP’s Copper South Australia Province is leading the way in meeting global demand for this essential resource. Our Mine and Concentrator Growth (MCG) project is central to this vision, proposing a significant expansion of the Olympic Dam mine and mineral processing facilities to provide copper concentrate feed to an expanded Olympic Dam smelter.
As Lead Project Studies (multiple positions), you will play a pivotal role in shaping this future. You’ll lead a cross-functional team and an EPCM delivery partner to deliver either mineral processing or tailings storage facilities—key components of the broader MCG investment.

Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver study objectives within agreed budget and schedule.
- Oversee EPCM delivery partner performance and alignment with project goals.
- Inspire and coach your team to achieve high performance and continuous growth.
- Validate that project scope and delivery methods represent the minimum viable solution.
- Frame and communicate recommendations for critical investment decisions and trade-offs.
- Coordinate cross-functional project team members effectively.
- Explore innovative solutions and adapt plans to optimise lifecycle value.
- Integrate sustainability practices and climate commitments into every decision.
- Promote psychological safety and a culture of learning and improvement.
