About Potash

 


BHP’s Jansen Potash Project located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP’s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP’s global portfolio. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.
 

 

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Manager HR (GBS) North America, this dynamic leadership role requires a strong individual to lead the delivery of best practice recruitment solutions for our Potash business as well as a team of talented Talent Acquisition specialists. 

 

Based in Saskatoon, SK, you will: 

 

  • Lead a team that works with leaders to create equal opportunity recruitment strategies and campaigns aimed at identifying, shortlisting, hiring and onboarding job-ready candidates 
  • Identify, plan and strengthen key talent pipelines nationally using industry and market trends to facilitate delivery against the Jansen workforce needs
  • Prioritise work effort and resources accordingly as informed by data and analytics to monitor and continuously improve performance 
  • Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems 
  • Diagnose root causes of any inclusion-related performance gaps and use subject matter expertise to advise the business on how to course-correct initiatives, and on gap-closing actions that are in line with the Inclusion strategy.
  • Plan, track the delivery of and manage projects to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes  
  • Manage the interface and collaboration with existing customers, stakeholders and DEI related groups as required, as well as HR sub functions (ER, Business Partnering, Consulting, Org Readiness, Indigenous Engagement etc)
  • Maintaining effective and compliant practices - optimising the candidate experience
     

About You

 

  • Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary education institution, in a related field
  • Strong reporting and analytic capability
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and project management experience
  • Adept in strategic planning
  • Prior experience in leading teams
  • Experience in delivering recruitment strategies in large scale / bulk workforces
