About the Role

 

We are building a talent pool of experienced and values-driven Superintendents Draglines & Dozers to support future opportunities across our operations. This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role, leading high-performing teams and contributing to safe, efficient, and consistent operational outcomes.

 

Reporting to the Production leadership team, you will provide strong operational oversight of dragline and dozer activities. You will champion safety, support strategic and operational planning, drive performance, maintain cost discipline, and enable your team to perform at their best. Your ability to build relationships, apply systems thinking, and lead with discipline will be key to your success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop frontline and operational teams to deliver safe and productive mining performance
  • Manage, coordinate, and verify operational activities across dragline operations, drill bench preparation, dozer push, and enabling mining tasks
  • Maintain strong operational discipline with a focus on risk management and critical controls
  • Engage teams in problem-solving, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive quality outcomes by setting clear expectations, verifying execution, and addressing issues early
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with planning, engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimise fleet performance
  • Contribute to medium- and long-term planning, including forecasting, improvement initiatives, and equipment strategy
  • Support effective cost control through budget management, forecasting, and disciplined resource allocation
  • Deliver operational and cost improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities

About You

 

  • Significant leadership experience in dragline or dozer operations (or related large scale mining operations).
  • A strong commitment to safety and operational discipline.
  • A demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships across teams and disciplines.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, systems thinking, and structured problem solving.  Exposure to LEAN management or Shingo principles will be highly valued.
  • An ability to use systems thinking to understand how processes, behaviours, and operational factors interact to influence outcomes.
  • Confidence in setting expectations, holding yourself and others accountable, and developing capability within your team.
