About the Role
- Permanent Lifting technician opportunity at Jimblebar Iron Ore mine
- 8/6, 7/7 FIFO roster from Perth (days & nights)
We currently have a vacancy for a Lifting Technician (CO operators/Scaffold/Riggers) to join our close-knit, supportive team. You’ll be making valued contributions towards the safe execution of Lifting tasks, as well as meeting the wider aims of Jimblebar operations and BHP.
Our current fleet of cranes include the following:
- MAC25 SL Franna
- Grove GMK 300t
- Grove GMK 150t
- Grove RT 60t
- Liebherr LTM 750t
Reporting to the Mechanical Shift Supervisor, other key focus areas will include:
- Inspecting the work site and ensuring all Lifting tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner
- Providing input with planning and scoping of work requests
- Participating in regular meetings to ensure a coordinated effort of resources to meet work schedules
- Ensuring safe execution of maintenance work as per the signed off schedule
- Execution of unplanned work and the assisting with re-scheduling of the existing work orders as required
- Using good housekeeping principals to ensure Lifting sites are safe and functional
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Sound crane operating, maintenance and lift planning experience
- Crane HIgh Risk & Rigging High Risk Licence required
- Detailed knowledge of operating and maintaining mining Lifting equipment
- Effective engagement skills and the ability to build relationships across work groups
- Minimum of RB Rigging Basic (RI & RA highly desirable)
- Minimum of CN. (CO slewing mobile crane - 500t - 750t experience highly desirable)
- Scaffolding Basic / Intermediate advantageous
- Forklift and EWP advantageous
- Knowledge of the Western Australian Heavy Vehicle Accreditation rules and regulations
- A minimum HR class driver’s license is essential (HC/MC highly desirable)
- Willingness to continually learn about Lifting techniques and attain relevant qualifications if needed
