About The Role


We are recruiting for the role of Line Coach at our Mining Area C Site in Western Australia. Reporting to the BHP Operating System (BOS) Site Coach, Your focus is to provide both initial and ongoing coaching to Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors and Line Engineers in the application of BOS tools and methods, and work to embed the new way of working.  


You will utilise innovative approaches, tools and technology to add real value to our assets – setting new standards to guide improvement activity, elevating and supporting our people. You will gain insight and training in the BOS methodology and will be expected to upskill others through your work.  

In this role you will:


  • Engaging directly with Site Senior leaders to embed the BHP Operating system and provide coaching to increase BOS maturity
  • Accountable for delivery of program milestones including the delivery of value  
  • Draw on the extensive BOS Academy global resources and specialist deployment coach knowledge to embed behavioural changes among operational leadership
  • Lead and develop your direct reports (Line Technical Specialists) to deploy the Operating System and shift mindsets and behaviours
  • Exposure across the site value chain at the Mining Area C/South Flank Hub – ramping up to the be the largest Iron Ore Hub in the World.


You will be based at our ‘Area C’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out 5/2, 4/3, 9/5 roster.  Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms North West of Newman, West Australia. The facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.

About You


We are looking for individuals that possess business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change.   
As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following: 


  • Ability to understand and manipulate data processing systems 
  • Ability to engage with all levels of the business from frontline employees to higher level management 
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence outcomes 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and exercise mature judgment
  • Ability and passionate to develop others as well as self


Specific experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desired:


  • Onsite Mining Industry experience 
  • Experience with CI methodologies
  • Experience coaching operational leadership

We are looking for individuals that possess business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change. Although it is desirable that you already have CI experience, you will receive full BOS Immersion training to support your role and ongoing mentoring and guidance from experienced Coaches to ensure your success.
