About the Role
Opportunities at the Perth Rebuild Centre in Welshpool are rare, and for good reason. This is a high-performing, tight-knit team that takes pride in delivering quality rebuilds under pressure. Standards are high, expectations are clear, and the culture is built on accountability.
We’re currently seeking safety-focused, highly capable Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our Machine Rebuilds Team. This is a 7 on - 7 off day shift roster (Thursday–Wednesday, 6am–6pm), giving you the balance of strong earning potential and being home every night.
While primarily workshop-based, the role may also require you to support breakdown and field-based work, including occasional site travel to commission the machines.
Your Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Disassemble and assemble CAT machinery (dump trucks, graders, dozers, loaders) from strip-down to final build and testing.
- Travel to site as required to commission rebuilt machines
- Perform advanced fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems
- Respond to breakdowns and unplanned maintenance, working independently under time pressure
- Identify root causes and implement lasting repair solutions while maintaining quality and output
- Promote a strong safety culture and contribute to continuous improvement within a high-performing team
About You
- Trade-Qualified Diesel Fitter (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years post-trade experience
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Proven experience with CAT heavy earthmoving equipment rebuilds
- Proficient in CAT SIS (essential)
- High-risk work licences: Forklift & Dogging (essential), Rigging (desirable)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability, with a methodical approach to problem solving
- Proven ability to work autonomously and perform under pressure
- Experience in breakdown environments or field service work highly regarded
- Willingness to work within a dynamic roster environment and adapt to operational demands and undertake site travel when required
