About the Role

We're currently seeking new to industry Electricians to join our expanding team.  Are you looking to get a start in the Mining Industry?  We would like to hear from you! 

Come and join our team at BHP and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our Iron Ore sites!

This is a unique opportunity to work FIFO from Perth on a dynamic 182 roster, delivering critical shutdown planned maintenance across five inland Iron Ore process plants in the Pilbara region (Yandi, Area C, South Flank, Jimblebar & Whaleback).

Our dynamic 182 roster includes 182 shifts per year. While shifts depend on demand, permanent employees receive a consistent fortnightly pay. Learn more about the roster here.

Key responsibilities:

• Fixed Plant Maintenance on Extra Low Voltage, Low Voltage and High Voltage equipment
• Inspection, servicing, testing, and reporting of faults on Electrical Systems
• Maintenance and modification of cables, equipment, and associated structures
• Installation of new cables, equipment, and associated structures
• Protection equipment inspections
• Residual Current Device testing
• Ramp down & ramp up electrical support
• HV (RADIAL) and LV Isolations
• Application & removal of shutdown lock boxes

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following:
 

• Electrical trade licence and completion of apprenticeship
• Minimum C class manual drivers’ licence
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• The ability to work within a team environment and build effective working relationships
