About BHP - Jansen

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles. 

 

Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. To find out more about Potash and the Jansen project, click here.

Work Location

This position will be based out of Saskatoon, but will require regular visits the Jansen Potash site. The associated work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.  

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Initiates planning of Work Management activities, prioritising in alignment with the major events calendar for a variety of trades.
  • Ensures capable resources are available for planned work by levelling internal resources, engaging with service providers and ensuring existing agreements are used.
  • Ensures the catalogued materials required for planned work are available through collaboration with the Supply function to eliminate the need for escalation.
  • Schedules work, considering dependencies such as location, resources, equipment, work sequence, other function requirements and interactions to maximise resource utilisation minimising risk and cost.
  • Conducts field observations of scheduled work execution to verify the effectiveness of the planned and scheduled work uses the learnings to improve future planning.
  • Encourage stakeholders to follow work management processes (informing business Process Data Coach (BPDC) of any concerns to work with the teams/individuals).
  • Creates task lists to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of corrective work where there is probability of reoccurrence.
  • Work with site contractors on projects that use maintenance trades.
  • Engages with Inventory Planners and Maintenance Reliability sub-function to ensure accurate Master Data and appropriate cataloguing of materials.

About You

  • Relevant trades experience with maintenance background is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience with work management best practices.
  • Proven SAP system knowledge and experience.
  • Technical aptitude for working with scheduling tools, such as Fiori Experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
