About the Role 

 

Caval Ridge is located in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people. 

 

We are currently seeking experienced Maintenance Supervisors who have worked with Dozers, Drills and Excavators. This is your opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical equipment in a dynamic and safety-focused environment. Role will be Fly-in-Fly-Out from Brisbane / Cairns, or Drive-in-Drive-out. The roster will be a 7:7 day/night shift.  

 

Reporting directly to the Hydraulic Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising a diverse group of maintenance technicians and executing maintenance activities in an operational open-cut environment.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and supervise a team of hydraulic technicians, fitters, auto electricians and boilermakers in the maintenance and repair of mobile tracked equipment
  • Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum equipment availability
  • Diagnose hydraulic faults and implement effective solutions
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with planning and reliability teams to improve maintenance strategies and asset performance
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety
  • Manage and coach work groups on quality, task-based risk assessments
  • Strong commitment to the field leadership program and coach field leadership activities

 


About you

 

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Diesel Fitting, or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in hydraulic systems maintenance within mining or heavy industry, working on equipment such as Dozers, Drills and Excavators
  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or leading hand role
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and team coordination abilities
  • Exceptional risk management skills
  • An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn
