About the Role

 

Provides leadership to a team or teams focused on identifying, scoping and delivering ongoing business improvement opportunities. Translates strategy into operational plans for the department.

 

  • Coaches individuals and teams in the application of BOS principles, practices and tools by building rapport, providing feedback and overcoming barriers to BOS implementation to support the achievement of the global BOS transformation.  
  • Communicates narratives about the problem or idea at hand, using visual representations to engage and motivate the audience.  
  • Assesses change impacts to prepare integrated change management plans, manages change readiness and resistance, and upskills leaders and impacted stakeholders in the adoption and successful delivery of the change.  
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.  
  • Conducts presentations and facilitates workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the audience.  
  • Identifies, implements and evaluates the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of BHP systems and processes.  
  • Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.   
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.  

About You

 

We are looking for individuals that possess technical business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others, and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change.   

 


As a successful candidate, you will possess the following: 

 

  • Degree or Professional qualification in business or related discipline
  • Proven leadership capability in a professional environment. This includes solid interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and develop your team members
  • Demonstrated experience leading system initiatives / projects, ideally in a global environment with high profile stakeholders
  • Experience in stakeholder management in large, complex organisations 
  • Exposure to mining is ideal but experience in other industries that utilise an operating system founded on lean principles would be highly regarded (e.g. manufacturing, health, finance, logistics, etc.) 
  • You will have an understanding/exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and organisational change 
  • You will be able to establish credibility as a trusted advisor through your strong improvement, leadership, coaching and communication skills
