About the Role

 

For our global Planning & Technical area, we are looking for our next Manager Business Planning, who will provide leadership to a team or teams focussed on the development, evaluation, recommendation and delivery of Asset level strategy and medium to long term plans, translating strategy into operational plans for the department. The role will be located in Tucson, Arizona, US.

 

Main Accountabilities

 

  • Maintains a wide network of impact, integrates functions, operations and regions and solves complex challenges to drive strong functional/asset integration across BHP  
  • Frames, evaluates and communicates the risk-reward proposition of strategies, plans and decisions; improves investment methodologies, processes, capabilities and culture to enhance investment decision quality, to maximise the long-term value of BHP.  
  • Identifies areas for process improvement and redesign processes accordingly.  
  • Translates corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analysing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy.  
  • Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.  
  • Prioritises work effort and resources accordingly.  
  • Conducts presentations and facilitates workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the audience.  
  • Defines value drivers and determines the boundaries of an opportunity to determine if it is worth further investment.  
  • Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.  
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.  
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.  
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.  

About You

 

  • Mining engineering or business planning related degree.
  • At least 10 years of short or long term planning experience.
  • Training in development of Provision input.
  • Experience in integrating information from multiple stakeholder to inform development, evaluation, recommendation of strategy at an Asset level.
  • Experience in development and endorsement of Life of Asset plans.
