About the Role
The Manager Commissioning, reporting to the Program Director Commissioning &OR Minerals Americas, will lead the work designed to define the Commissioning Strategy and Plan for Tailings & NPI and Mining Capital Project Portfolio (Medium and Large Projects). The candidate will bring a demonstrated strong background in Commissioning and Business Readiness for Medium and Large Projects, project studies phases, project delivery, design development, and demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and execution of these activities for Medium and Large Capital Projects.
The Manager Commissioning will be responsible for the robust integration of Commissioning and Business Readiness in the study and execution phases and the definition of the Commissioning strategy and plan to ensure commissioning business readiness of a Portfolio of Tailings & NPI and Mining capital projects to achieve the business cases and required level of service delivery.
Responsabilities:
• Support HSE performance through proactive leadership, apply BHP's risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
• Leads and integrates the development and maintenance of the Commissioning Readiness strategy, standards, processes, and plans for capital projects. Ensures and is accountable of the management of change for the complete scope of Commissioning and the readiness for Stabilization & Operation.
• Ensures the development and execution of a capital optimization program, identifying improvement initiatives to increase capital efficiency and productivity within the Commissioning scope of the Project.
• Provides Commissioning and Business Readiness expertise and coordinate resources deployed into the Project team for the development of Commissioning and Business Readiness related deliverables, including but not limited to plans, processes, and procedures.
• Act as a single point of contact for the Project during early study phases for all Commissioning deliverables and inputs.
• Elaborates and manage the Commissioning budgets and schedules for both study and execution phases.
• Responsible to ensure ramp-up/stabilization readiness and craft support during the execution of these activities.
• Manage risks and implements and monitors controls related to Commissioning and key value drivers.
• Support and conduct data-analytics on all aspects of commissioning and business readiness execution, optimization, and improvement projects.
• Lead value creation through application of continuous improvement techniques to program standards and procedures.
• Monitor the planned, actual, and forecast resource levels to support project execution.
About you
- Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Civil Engineering
- 25 years of Mining experience in development of concentrate and tailings medium and large projects in different stage Identifications, Selection, Definitions and Executions.
- 20 years of Commissioning experience in mining projects.
- Copper experience with Concentrators, Mining and Tailings projects.
- Experience with asset hierarchies’ establishment and maintenance planning systems, handling standard work instructions, processes and procedures development and training within green and brownfields plants preferred.
- Fluent in Spanish and advanced English level.
