About the Role
This role is for someone who sees beyond the report or the dashboard, who understands it’s about helping the organisation unlock value.
As Manager – Group Financial Planning & Analysis, you’ll bring together the full financial picture of BHP. But more importantly, you’ll help shape what that picture means - connecting insights across assets and regions, challenging assumptions, and driving better decisions.
You’ll work across the Finance value chain, improving how we plan, forecast and analyse. You’ll help us move faster, think smarter, and work better - by transforming processes, enabling technology, and building strong relationships.
Key Accountabilities:
- Eliminate Waste and Maximise Insights from E2E reporting processes
- Drive and significantly influence other Finance teams located around the world (reporting teams of 30+ people)
- Accountability for establishment of group wide practices to enable the timely collection and review of actuals / forecasts / budgets
- This role is pivotal in financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting across multiple regions and business units, delivering insights to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board
Monthly Reporting
- Monthly reporting to ELT and Board (bi-monthly) delivering the full financial picture with insights allowing for good decision making
- Set the standards for global reporting teams to ensure consistent, high quality delivery
- Always seeking better ways to report, and source the best way to measure performance of key value drivers
- Translate complexity into clarity and insight into impact
Budgets / Forecasts
- As per Monthly Reporting, applied to the three phases of Budget updates to Board (Early Stage Budget, For Approval, Final Budget post macro updates)
- Critical in the development of the Cash Prioritisation process for the allocation of capital across the Group
- Delivery of forecasts to Treasury to enable strategic funding strategies and dividend planning
Half Year / Year End External Reporting
- Working closely with the Reporting and Investor Relations teams, providing critical information for the external releases of the Results Announcement and Results Presentation packs
- Develops key components of the Operating and Financial Review of the Annual Report
- Delivery of financials to Group Reward to enable Cash and Deferred Plan determination for the ELT
- Attract and retain world class financial talent, through focus on recruitment, coaching, development and succession planning
About You
- Bachelor of Commerce/Management / Finance or Accounting degree and professional accounting designation (CA or CPA) - essential.
- Experience in Mining, Heavy Manufacturing and/or Industrial industry work environments preferred.
- SAP experience preferable.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and external reporting requirements.
- With substantial years of relevant experience and leadership skills in global multi-cultural environments and ability to lead and manage change.
