Location
This position is based at Jimblebar, operating on a 4:3/5:2/4:3/9:5 FIFO roster. Jimblebar is an autonomous truck mine operated by BHP, producing up to 70 million tonnes per annum of high-grade lump and fines product. Located 40 km northeast of Newman, Western Australia, the modern FIFO village offers outstanding facilities including a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, golf driving nets, outdoor cinema, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball courts, beach volleyball court, games room, and TV lounge. All rooms have access to 4G wireless internet, ensuite bathrooms, televisions, refrigerators, and air-conditioning. Jimblebar has recently started flights to and from Busselton. About the Role
We are looking for a driven Manager – Fixed Plant Maintenance to join the WAIO team at Jimblebar. Reporting to the Jimblebar GM you will:
- Lead and support the Fixed Plant Maintenance team in an engaging and inclusive manner to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes during operations and shutdowns
- Deliver and promote a safe place to work
- Provide leadership in safety and risk management
- Foster a positive, safe, and productive team environment
- Develop the team so that everyone can reach their full potential and contribute
- Deliver exceptional work management outcomes that support Ore Handling Plant and Site Infrastructure availability and reliability
- Monitor and improve work management processes, setting and tracking performance expectations and metrics for the Maintenance and Operations functions
- Develop and deliver on sub-department business plans and improvement pipeline
- Contribute to the Life of Asset and 5-Year Plan objectives and budget
About You
Your proven experience in leading and mentoring large, multidisciplinary teams in complex operational settings will be key to your success. Exceptional maintenance expertise, complemented by a diverse operational mining background, will be advantageous. Strong communication and influencing skills will help you quickly establish effective and collaborative relationships. Your focus on safety leadership, continuous improvement, inclusion, and risk management will maintain the existing culture of safety excellence and optimal operational delivery. Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in Fixed Plant Asset maintenance and management within a similar operational environment.
- Technical, engineering, or trade qualifications in a relevant discipline, or
- A university degree in a relevant maintenance or technical engineering discipline, with further development and study in a commercial or business field (preferably MBA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a heavy industry or mining environment.
- A strong commitment to health, safety, environment, and community.
- A results-focused approach with a proven track record of managing successful, cohesive teams.
- Leadership skills that nurture an open and safe environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
