About the Role

 

We are enthusiastically seeking the talents of an experienced and compassionate people leader who thrives on building cohesive and collaborative teams.

 

This role will ideally be on a residential basis in Newman, however a FIFO arrangement may be considered for the right candidate.


Reporting to the General Manager, you will:

 
•    Guide and enable the Fixed Plant Maintenance team in an engaging and inclusive way to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes
•    Provide safety leadership including safety and risk management
•    Nurture a positive, safe, and productive team environment
•    Prioritise the development of employees through coaching and mentoring
•    Pro-actively leverage the BHP Operating System to deliver outcomes
•    Monitor the Work Management Monitoring and Controlling process to improve WM compliance and effectiveness 
•    Establish and monitor performance expectations and metrics for the Maintenance and Operations function
•    Give input to the Life of Asset and 5-Year Plan objectives and budget, driving performance and implementation 

About You

 

Your demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring large, multidisciplinary teams in a complex operational environment will contribute to your success in this role.  

 

Exceptional maintenance expertise complimented by a diverse operational mining background will certainly be advantageous. Excellent communication and influencing skills will enable you to quickly establish effective and collaborative relationships while your focus on safety leadership, continuous improvement, inclusion, and risk management will ensure the existing culture of safety excellence and optimal operational delivery is maintained.


In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:


•    A background in Fixed Plant Asset maintenance and management within a similar operational environment
•    An engineering and/or trade qualifications within a relevant engineering or maintenance discipline
•    An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and the community
•    Results focused with a demonstrated track record managing successful, cohesive teams
•    A leader who actively nurtures an open and safe environment
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
