About the Role

 

The role provides leadership to a team or teams focused on the strategic management of health-related issues, provisions, and initiatives across the organization. Translates strategy into operational plans for the department.

Main Accountabilities:

 

  • Responds to, manages, and provides specialist/functional expertise on health-related risks to uplift organizational capability in health management.  
  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives.  
  • Identifies, engages, and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework, and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.  
  • Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.  
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence-based decision making.  
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organization.  
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.  
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.  

About You

 

  • Professional degree: Civil engineer, doctor or similar.
  • Preferably studies in occupational health.
  • Experience in Hygiene and/or Occupational Health.
  • Deep knowledge of Regulations, platforms or government systems. DS 28 Legislation associated with health.
  • Experience in mining and/or industry at geographical height.
  • Experience in leadership positions (at least 2 years).
  • Availability for 4x3 shift at the site in Antofagasta region, Chile.
  • Fluent English.
