Location
Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) is an integrated system of four processing hubs and five mines, connected by more than 1,000 kilometres of rail infrastructure and port facilities in the Pilbara region of northern Western Australia
You will be based at our ‘Area C’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out 4:2/5:3/4:3/9:5 roster. Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms Northwest of Newman, West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
About the Role
Our Integrated Maintenance Department manages maintenance of Site Infrastructure and Auxiliary equipment for Area C and our neighbouring mine South Flank, as well as Dewatering services.
Reporting to the General Manager Area C, your key accountabilities will include:
- Ensure that incidents are investigated so as to eliminate repetition, and ensure the recommended action has been completed and verified as effective and reported to appropriate authorities
- Maintain a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors. Show management in Take 5s, Safety Basics, Safety Meetings & Task Based Risk Management
- Provide leadership and promote teamwork, motivation and growth of our people
- Monitor and control costs associated with Capital and Operating Budgets and report major expenditure and budget variations
- Coordinate data gathering and submit Capital and Operating budgets to ensure that adequate funding is available to allow for the long term performance of plant and equipment
- Develop, deliver and improve Infrastructure and Services strategy and supporting systems and standards
- Identify, prioritise and remediate asset integrity maintenance activities in Area C
- Generate high levels of efficiency and reliability to increase infrastructure service and reliability
- Create a strong relationship between teams in Area C and South Flank
About You
The successful candidate, will possess the following:
- Understanding of asset management processes applying to infrastructure including computerised maintenance management systems
- Leadership and influencing skills in a broad and cross functional work environment
- A clear understanding of Asset Management strategy and execution
- Experience in managing remote site infrastructure
