The Challenge Ahead

BHP’s Enterprise Cloud and Networks are a key enabler for our organization, forming one of the main components of our digital backbone. Our Enterprise Cloud and Network function is focused on a period of digital modernization, establishing the foundations of a stable network and designing and implementing new network technology to enable the future strategic direction of BHP assets.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager for our Enterprise Cloud and Networks in the Americas. 

Key areas of are:

•    Operational management of BHP's Enterprise Cloud & Networks in the Americas region.
•    Oversee Wireless and Wired networks, and work with Global Networking team for Network Security, Network Monitoring and Tooling.
•    Oversee in region IT hosting and cloud instances with an action orientation towards hybrid/edge cloud compute.
•    Engage closely with Asset OT teams on guidance and delivery related to Hosting, cloud and network solutions
•    Manage projects across Chilean and Canadian asset locations and all corporate offices within the Americas region.
•    Collaborate closely with Asset Network Managers, Asset Technology Teams, Strategy and Architecture, and Cyber Security teams.
•    Ensure compliance with appropriate standards, policies, and requirements.
•    Provide strategic direction representing the Americas region for the design of the relevant Cloud and Network roadmaps and operating model which supports efficient and effective adoption and support of related products and services.
•    Constantly forward looking in network technical advancements, regulatory compliance requirements by engaging with Industry and Governing bodies.
•    Collaborate across BHP globally to bring together internal subject matter experts to understand requirements for networks across all mining operations and corporate users.
•    Implement a hybrid cloud and network strategy to enable a secure, modernised foundations

What we expect from you

•    Degree qualification in Technology, Computer Science related, ideal candidates would have minimum 8- 10 years of comparable experience. Advanced degrees or certifications in networks are highly desirable.
•    Demonstrated experience in successfully managing an operational network/cloud/hosting environments, ideally across multiple locations
•    Demonstrated experience in successfully managing an offshore support vendor
•    Demonstrated experience with contributing to and implementing roadmaps and strategy across a geographically diverse team
•    Demonstrated experience working with multiple teams and customers including the ability to identify strategic initiatives that address a customer requirement.
•    Portfolio Management experience would be desirable and experience managing a strategic improvement program for networks globally
•    Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation. 
•    Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste. 
•    Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs. 

The successful applicant will understand the following foundational technical supporting identity services:
•    In-depth knowledge of hosting/cloud/networking concepts and technology (having/ building vendor relationships is a key requirement)
•    Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to cloud/hosting/networks with demonstrated experience in maintaining business continuity
•    Familiarity with ITIL process and CMBD integration
•    Experience with implementing cloud and network automation
•    Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNP, CCIE, AWS/Azure Networking) are highly desirable
