About the Role
We are enthusiastically seeking the talents of a skilled and highly motivated Manager – Mining Production to join the WAIO leadership Team based at South Flank. Reporting to the South Flank General Manager, in this key position, you will be responsible for overseeing the mining operation.
Key Responsibilities will include:
• Translate strategy into delivery of the operational mine plan and ensuring delivery of continuous safe operations
• Perform Field Leadership routines including safety and risk management
• Nurture a positive, safe and productive team environment
• Prioritise the development of employees through coaching & mentoring
About You
Your demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring large, multidisciplinary teams in a complex operational environment will contribute to your success in this role.
Exceptional mining production expertise complimented by a diverse operational mining background will certainly be advantageous. Excellent communication and influencing skills will enable you to quickly establish effective and collaborative relationship while your focus on safety leadership, continuous improvement and risk management will ensure the existing culture of safety excellence and optimal operational delivery is maintained.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role, successfully managing large-scale mining operations
- Advanced technical knowledge across all aspects of mining operations
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and the community.
- Results focused with a demonstrated track record managing successful, cohesive teams.
- A leader who actively nurtures an open and safe environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Location
South Flank is BHP's newest iron ore mine, and the biggest in 50 years. It expands existing infrastructure at Mining Area C, adding 80 Mtpa of new crushing and screening capacity, an extensive overland conveyor system, expanded stockyards and new train loading facilities to form the largest iron ore hub in the Pilbara region. Its mining fleet is the biggest and best in class, and has been converted to autonomous operation, in line with South Flank's future-facing design.
