About the Role

Leads a new team that executes the second line risk management function for Pay Compliance. Executes the Pay Governance Compliance Framework and work cross-functionally to establish enterprise-wide pay compliance standards, controls, monitoring and assurance activities. Provides leading practice advice on end-to-end payroll and work to embed standards set by external regulatory bodies where required. Oversees the review, enhancement, and implementation of controls for end-to-end payroll processes. Manages operationalisation of legislated changes to obligations through established governance forums and processes.

  • Managing, assessing and remediating risk across the hire to retire value chain, and driving compliance of payroll functional processes aligned to BHP’s employment obligations, risk and governance protocols.

  • Supports and influences a culture of compliance through training and advice regarding compliance-related risks, controls, and legal & regulatory obligations.

  • Maintains a wide network of impact, integrates functions, operations and regions and solves complex challenges to drive strong functional/asset integration across BHP

  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives.

  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Identifies and assesses risks, make risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe, compliant and productive performance outcomes.

  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence-based decision making.

  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.  

  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.

About You

 

  • Degree from an equivalent or related discipline (Legal, Employee Relations, Audit & Risk, Financial Accounting)

  • Extensive experience working in HR / ER / Payroll compliance or related functions across large or global organisation/s within a complex regulatory environment.

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of HR and ER legislative and regulatory requirements and processes.

  • Significant experience in a leadership role, accountable for overseeing and managing HR / ER / Payroll domain risk.

  • Proven experience in complex transformation programs, leading large teams and working cross-functionally to implement frameworks, policies, and systems to mitigate risks and enhance business resilience.

  • An accomplished leader with a proven track record in driving performance and enhancing workplace risk culture.
