About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Business Partnership WAIO, this manager role is responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial information to support value accretive decision making and maintain alignment to the WAIO strategy. This role advocates for sustainable value generation via development of robust plans, performance of data analysis delivering credible insights and solutions as well as identifying opportunities for improvement and fostering the development of team members.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the 2YP and forecasts process and financial outcomes for WAIO, focusing on driving performance to benchmarks and working with the WAIO Finance Business Partnering teams to craft the WAIO narrative;
  • Lead and coach the WAIO Finance Planning and Reporting team to deliver financial data driven solutions to improve the businesses operation and financial performance;
  • Lead the key financial deliverables for WAIO Finance, inclusive of (but not limited to): Operational Reviews, Results Announcements, Appraisal presentations and key financial metrics, Group Reporting submissions and the Annual Report;
  • Use analytics models, systems and tools to ensure an optimal approach in delivering business requests;
  • Champion and drive improvement initiatives to improve process efficiency, simplification and standardisation;
  • Confidently present ideas, results and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders; and
  • Manage multiple teams effectively, foster talent and development, driving high performance via effective leadership, coaching and feedback.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be able to deal with multiple priorities and stakeholders, with the ability to delegate whilst maintaining a high attention to detail.  You will be naturally curious with an improvement mindset, inspiring challenge via your highly effective communication and superior interpersonal skills, building constructive relationships and credibility with a range of stakeholders and cross functional teams.   

Key experience and attributes:

  • Extensive experience with a preference for resources based financial experience
  • Ability to work with technical subject matter experts and quickly grasp technical problems / complex issues and synthesise into clear and concise business cases and analyses
  • Demonstrated commercial/operational thinking and experience making value-based business decisions for a commercial return
  • Ability to analyse and effectively communicate (written and oral) analytics outcomes to stakeholders and senior management
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and credibility with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
  • Understand the key business issues and associated impacts in related disciplines including accounting/reporting, corporate governance, investor relations, tax, treasury, legal and risk management
  • Post Graduate qualifications such as Masters or MBA, CPA, CFA or CA highly desirable
