About the Role

 

We are seeking a Talented Professional to join the WA Iron Ore team in the role of Manager – Security and Emergency Management. Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety and Environment (WA Iron Ore), this is a new key leadership role, accountable to provide functional excellence in Security and Emergency Management across WA Iron Ore sites. The role will be based in Perth, with regular site travel required. Flexible work options will be considered.

 

You will be required to:

 

  • Lead and direct effective Security and Emergency Management initiatives designed to safeguard the Asset and mitigate risk
  • Provide leadership, coaching, strategic direction and expert advice to the Asset Leadership Team and key stakeholders on Security & Emergency Management matters
  • Manage, improve and provide expertise on security and emergency management practices to improve Asset security and emergency management maturity and performance. 
  • Prioritize creating safe & secure environments for all employees and contractors, especially in light of Sexual Assault & Sexual Harassment issues across the industry
  • Engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and assess risks, make risk informed decisions, use BHP's risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Drive a culture of care


 

About you

 

You will have a passion to build, shape and support our multi-disciplined, diverse team as we strive for high performance, through embracing inclusivity and valuing diversity, technical expertise and leadership.

 

You will also have:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Security, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management or a related field; or equivalent demonstrable experience in a security / emergency management-related field (operating at an equivalent level)
  • Extensive experience leading and shaping an inclusive and diverse team
  • Solid corporate and operational security experience, preferably in the resources or other similar heavy industry
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in making difficult decisions and managing change under pressure
  • Ability to lead change whilst driving a culture of care

Location

 

This is a permanent position based in Perth with regular site travel to the various sites across the WA Iron Ore asset. Flexible work options will be considered.
