About the Role

We are seeking a Manager to lead Technology Copper South Australia’s operational technology teams located at Olympic Dam, Carrapateena, Prominent Hill, Oak Dam and associated locations. BHP’s Copper SA assets consist of underground mining operations and processing plant to produce copper, gold, silver and uranium as well as associated technology services to support storage, transport and sale of our products. This role requires a five days on, two days off roster, with three days at site on rotation, and up to two days in Adelaide each week. Each site supported by an in-location Superintendent that reports to the role.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Positively engage and enable a strong safety culture through multiple layers of leadership and across our sites
  • Provide effective and responsive technology service support, including health monitoring, service, risk and incident management
  • Empower a strong problem solving and continuous improvement approach through the team, including operational planning and disciplined management of change
  • Leverage your experience and stakeholder engagement skills to understand our asset customer needs and support them to achieve their goals.
  • Prioritise and allocate resources in a dynamic service environment
  • Support new technology uptake through project handover to operations

 

About You

 

  • You will have a proven track record of successful front-line leadership of operational teams in an industrial environment. 
  • The results you have achieved to date will demonstrate your ability to engage, lead change and influence to achieve outcomes.
  • Operational leadership experience is essential, ideally with some technology leadership experience.
  • Your ability to focus on what matters and maintain calm will be second to none, as will your ability to adapt under changing circumstances. 
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills are critical to this role, as is the desire to motivate and focus your team on safe, stable and reliable operations.
  • Stakeholder engagement and strong collaboration with Production, Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance and Process Safety teams will be key to your success.
