Location 

 

You will be based at one of the mine sites with WAIO as required by business demand.  The position roster is a “hybrid” arrangement, with 5 days on site, 2 days off, 4 days in Perth (combination of office and WFH) and 3 days off.  Alternate rosters can be discussed on a flexible work arrangement.

 

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Superintendent GTS Mechanical, we are seeking a talented engineering professional to join a team responsible for providing technical direction to the business through the execution of mechanical engineering activities while accounting for uncertainty and risk. The diverse range of work will include:  

 

•    Provide strategic and tactical technical support to site operations 
•    Understand equipment performance to identify potential plant improvement opportunities
•    Work with common predictive technologies to optimise equipment performance (vibration analysis, lubrication, ultrasonic testing, machinery analysis, alignment and balancing etc.) 
•    Work with Industry, OEMs, ESPs and Principal Engineers to deliver mechanical design solutions to operations
•    Completing engineering assessments on plant and equipment changes to manage technical risk and ensure the necessary scope is identified (e.g. blueprint is updated)
•    Complete critical control assurance activities to support safe operations of WAIO plant
•    Provide technical input to event investigations for equipment/product/component failures
•    Contribute to the ongoing management of Asset Level technical Standards and Specifications 

 

The team has a strong focus on technical development, and complementing formal training provides mentoring with a vastly experienced team and development pathways into more senior roles within the business. 
 

About You


•    A degree in Mechanical Engineering 
•    Experience in engineering design and technical report writing 
•    Technical knowledge on bulk materials handling equipment such as crushers, balance machines, conveyor systems, transfer chutes, product screens and feeders, and car dumpers (preferable) 
•    Good understanding and knowledge of engineering standards, regulations, and procedures
•    The ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders
•    Experience managing engineering consultants to deliver positive results in safety, quality assurance/control, culture, and productivity
