About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Safety focused Mechanical Fitters to join our Fixed plant team on a dynamic 182 roster FIFO based out of Perth. This dynamic roster operates for Outages/Shutdowns featuring 182 shifts per year that vary based on demand. As a permanent employee, you will benefit from consistent salary regardless of your shifts, allowing you enjoy financial stability and predictability.


Key responsibilities:

  • Inspection, servicing, adjustment, troubleshooting and repair of the processing plant
  • Ensuring clear communication across team members and to the Supervisor regarding downtime and trouble areas
  • Removing and installation of billets, liners, structural steel, deflectors, chutes, screens, and vibe feeders
  • Carrying out corrective and breakdown maintenance tasks - motor replacements, v- belts and pulleys, dust suppression repairs and Pipe/valve/pump replacement.   
  • Routine inspections of fixed plant equipment and assisting with scopes
  • Following specific maintenance strategies, procedures and assisting with continuous improvement
  • Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment, and sustainable development
  • Ensuring that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed as well as providing quality shift handovers

 

About You

  • Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
  • Demonstrated Fixed Plant Maintenance fitter experience
  • Experience having maintained Crushers, pulleys or gearboxes will be highly regarded
  • Experience in removal and installation of deflectors and chutes also desirable
  • Capability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management system desirable
  • Ability to identify defective mechanical components or equipment
  • Current C Class Drivers License
  • Ability to identify Hazards and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner
