About the Role
BMA Goonyella Riverside Mine are currently seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitters. As part of the maintenance crew, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of heavy mining equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a wide range of fixed and mobile plant equipment including conveyors, pumps, crushers, draglines, and CHPP infrastructure
• Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance in accordance with site procedures and schedules
• Fault finding, diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS systems
• Work collaboratively with other trades and production teams to minimise downtime and enhance equipment reliability
• Maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards at all times
About You
• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
• Experience in a coal mining or heavy industrial environment
• Proficient with fault-finding and troubleshooting large fixed plant and mobile equipment
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures for conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and bearings
• Current coal board medical and Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong safety focus and a proactive approach to risk management
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently
