About the Role
We are currently seeking safety focused Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a Dynamic 182 roster flying from Perth. More information on the Dynamic roster can be found here.

Inspection, servicing, adjustment, troubleshooting and repair of balance machines

Ensuring clear communication across team members and to the Supervisor in regard to downtime and trouble areas

Following specific maintenance strategies and procedures

Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment, and sustainable development

Ensuring that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed

Maintaining a high-level working knowledge of safety processes.
About You
Key Responsibilities & Requirements

Carry out mechanical maintenance on ship loaders, reclaimers and stackers, including major component change-outs such as slew bearings, bucket wheels and luff cylinders.

Hold a relevant trade qualification – Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade).

Maintain a strong safety focus and commitment to safe work practices.

Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines in a team environment.

Use tools, machinery and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment to operational standards.

Identify defects and worn mechanical components, ensuring timely corrective action.

Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments and precision work.

Apply strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.

Accurately capture and record data based on inspection findings and maintenance activities.

Competent in using maintenance management systems and digital tools for reporting and documentation.

Highly motivated, eager to learn and committed to ongoing self-improvement.
