About the Role
We’re currently seeking safety-conscious, technically skilled Mechanical Fitters to join our Specialised Fixed Plant Pulleys and Gear Boxes Team on a Dynamic 182 roster flying from Perth.
A Dynamic 182 roster is like a shutdown roster made up of 182 shifts a year. Shifts will be dependent on demand, but because you will be a permanent employee you still receive a consistent fortnightly pay regardless of the amount of shifts you work.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited too:
- Maintain fixed plant rotating equipment, including pulleys, gearboxes and electric drive motors, through change‑outs, servicing and inspections.
- Follow established maintenance strategies, procedures and work instructions.
- Uphold the BHP Charter and all health, safety, environmental and sustainability standards.
- Complete all documentation and data entry accurately and on time.
- Scope work methodology and update work instructions as required.
- Share technical expertise to support team capability and development.
- Conduct quality control checks before and after task execution.
About You
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade).
- Demonstrated experience in Fixed Plant Rotating Equipment such as; Pulleys, Gearboxes & Electrical Motors.
- Experience in fitment of bearings, couplings & undertaking precision alignment of rotating equipment will be highly regarded.
- Experience in Rigging and specifically on conveyor systems will be highly regarded.
- Experience with, and/or a fundamental understanding of lubrication & hydraulic systems also desirable.
- Highly safety focused individual.
- Proactive, self-driven & capable problem solvers.
- Capability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management system desirable.
- Understanding and experience in WAIO Isolation & Barricading procedure or similar industry procedure desirable.
- Ability to identify defective mechanical components or equipment.
