About The Role 

We are currently seeking safety focused and experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Specialised Fixed plant team on a Dynamic 182 roster flying from Perth.  A Dynamic 182 roster is similar to a shutdown roster made up of 182 shifts a year, shifts will be dependant on demand but because you will be a permanent employee you still receive a consistent fortnightly pay regardless of the amount of shifts you work.

Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Maintenance of Fixed Plant rotating equipment including Pulleys, Gearboxes & Electrical drive Motors.  The Maintenance tasks will consist of Change outs, Servicing and Inspections 

  • Following specific maintenance strategies and procedures 
  • Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment, and sustainable development 
  • Ensuring that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed 
  • Work Methodology Scoping & Updating of work instructions 
  • Sharing experience as a subject matter expect to improve team capability.
  • Conduct quality control verifications on pre & post task execution
     

About You 

BHP Operations Services brings people and resources together to improve plant performance. As a member of the maintenance team you will be recognised as a master in maintenance providing safe, high-quality work every time.
 
We are looking for individuals who have: 

  • Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent 
  • Demonstrated experience in Fixed Plant Rotating Equipment such as Pulleys, Gearboxes & Electrical Motors. Experience in fitment of bearings, couplings & undertaking precision alignment of rotating equipment will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in Rigging and specifically on conveyor systems will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with, and/or a fundamental understanding of lubrication & hydraulic systems also desirable.
  • Highly safety focused individual
  • Proactive, self-driven & capable problem solvers. 
  • Capability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management system desirable
  • Understanding and experience in WAIO Isolation & Barricading procedure or similar industry procedure desirable.  
  • Ability to identify defective mechanical components or equipment
