About the Role

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability, you will work as part of the Infrastructure Services team. You will play a leading role in ensuring the consistent application of current electrical standards, procedures, strategies and practices on site.

 

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

 

  • Engage in daily safety activities and discussions to promote achievement of personal and team safety goals
  • Review Equipment/Plant performance against set targets
  • Review Work Management metrics against set targets
  • Build strong relationships with trades, management and peers to influence and gain information, ensuring ownership is taken and actions completed.
  • Action investigations (RCA’s) from identified gaps in equipment and work management performance.
  • Govern equipment strategies for assigned equipment, monitor performance of these strategies and improve as required.
  • Review maintenance execution quality, and support execution team by capturing best practice in maintenance methods.
  • Work with Planning and Execution teams to develop equipment strategies for new equipment.

 

About You

 

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

 

  • Tertiary Mechanical Engineering degree and proven experience in similar role 
  • Experience in developing new and optimizing existing maintenance tactics/strategies using FMECA, FMEA and RCM principles
  • Relevant experience in Infrastructure Services type assets.
  • Exposure to RCA and defect elimination techniques will be considered advantageous, but not essential
  • Experience in functional safety systems will be well regarded.
  • Highly engaged and collaborative work ethic, committed to building mutually beneficial relationships across functional teams
  • Experience with SAP or similar Maintenance management system.
  • Excellent problem solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Experience in optimising and creating maintenance strategies

 

Location 

 

With this role you have the choice of either being residentially based in Newman or fly-in fly-out from Perth to Newman on a 5:2 4:3 roster. You will be working across both sites at Newman Operations. Newman Operations West is more than five kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide, making it the biggest single-pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world. Newman Operations East is made up of several deposits and contributes to the overall ore production of the Newman Joint Venture hub. As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes.

 

If you would prefer the residential option, you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies.
