About the Role
Are you a Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker or Experienced Fixed Plant maintainer with a mechanical trade? Does the sound of reduced costs of living with great pay and benefits, all while living the country lifestyle appeal to you?
Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) is an integrated system of four processing hubs and five mines, connected by more than 1,000 kilometres of rail infrastructure and port facilities in the Pilbara region of northern Western Australia.
Our Fixed Plant Mechanical teams are currently hiring Maintainers to fill permanent positions at Nelson Point Port Hedland. Working in a team of mechanical maintainers, and reporting to the Supervisor Fixed Plant Maintenance, you will be responsible for the carrying out of preventive, reactive and planned maintenance tasks to support plant availability in the field.
These are residential roles based on an 8/6 – 7/7 roster (predominately days only with ad hoc night shift).
In this role you will:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Maintain a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
- Undertake preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with maintenance planning systems and recommending appropriate follow-up action
- Repair and service fixed plant equipment, attend breakdowns and maintain plant availability
- Ability to collaborate to fault find equipment in breakdown situations
- Carry out all activities within the whole-of-job scope, including pre-work, preparation of JHAs and organizing materials, execution, testing and completion of tasks
- Ensure operational discipline in 1SAP Work Management practices, from raising of notifications, execution of Work Orders on both planned and unplanned situations
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Australian recognised Mechanical Trade with experience in Fixed Plant, Mechanical Fitters, Boilermakers or other Mechanical trades with Fixed Plant experience accepted
- Driver’s License – essential
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to safe systems of work
- Hydraulics experience desirable
- Previous Plant maintenance roles desirable
- Experience with 1 SAP or similar systems is highly advantageous but not essential
- Ability to adapt and work within planned or breakdown maintenance environments
- Proactive with belief in the value that maintenance can bring to an organisation
- Team focused and able to work collaboratively
- Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously when needed
- HRWL forklift, OHTC & Dogging desirable
