Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off

In This Role You Will:

  • Be working collaboratively with the mining team to generate and communicate mine designs that achieve safe and efficient production.
  • Assist in the generation of Mine Development Plans (MDPs) for all Capital and Operating development designs.
  • Assist in the generation of Stope Notes/Block Notes to ensure safe production in line with mining schedule.
  • Follow the underground mine planning process to ensure safety standards, regulations, and best practice mine design criteria are met and maintained.
  • Support the maintaining of QA/QC on the mine planning standards and processes.
  • Audit and continually improve mine planning processes and systems.
  • Maintain a mine design tracking tool which is used to identify bottlenecks in the mine schedule.  
  • Guide and communicate frequently with operational teams to ensure milestones are achieved on time within scope and budget.

About You:

  • Significant experience working in underground, hard rock, metalliferous mining.
  • Exposure to working in a sub-level open stoping mine and underground experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in mine design and scheduling in sub-level open stoping.
  • Motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to work in high pressure and dynamic environments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Actively promote safe production.
  • Ability to work independently in office and underground.
  • MS Office, INX and Deswik suite software experience essential.
