About the Role

As an experienced Medium Term Scheduling Engineer your main responsibilities will be to develop the 13-week mining forecast in alignment with Quarterly, LOA and budget requirements. You will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure the schedule meets all requirements across our Prominent Hill Operations.

 

Location: Prominent Hill , South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)

Roster:  8 days on; 6 days off

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

 

In this role you will:

  • Communicate the mine schedule to all stakeholders effectively and frequently.
  • Track and report the 13-week mining forecast compliance to plan on a regular basis.
  • Monitor and maintain quality data with respect to underground performance to support assumptions in the schedule.
  • Identify schedule critical paths, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop innovative solutions to mine schedule issues.
  • Undertake any projects necessary to improve mine planning processes.
  • Assist other Mining Engineering and LOA planning functions as required.
  • Conduct time-in-field to ensure scheduling priorities are achievable in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Complete at least 2 UG visits per month with a Mine Operations leader.
  • Complete at least 1 task observations and 1 x CCV’s per month.

About You

  • Proven experience working in underground, hard rock, metalliferous mining environment.
  • At least 12 months UG practical experience completed.
  • Proven experience in mine design and scheduling in sub-level open stoping.
  • Demonstrated ability to be motivated and self-directed to achieve project outcomes.
  • Proven ability to work in high pressure and dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Previous experience and ability to actively promote safe production.
  • Well-developed Microsoft Office, and Deswik suite software experience.
  • Previous experience with Deswik.IS software.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering
  • Current National Police Check (NPC)

 

The following qualifications, accreditations, and licenses are desirable for this role:

  • Valid Work Safely at Heights, Authority to Operate a Light Vehicle, Provide First Aid inc CPR & Drivers’ license
