About BHP - Jansen

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles. 

 

Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. To find out more about Potash and the Jansen project, click here.

Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK.  The work schedule for this role is 8x80.

 

For those not living locally, BHP provides relocation assistance to the local Jansen area. Alternatively, you can enjoy the convenience and comfort of our onsite camp accommodation at Discovery Lodge during your shifts. 

 

BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance. 

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Support supervisor with tools and materials coordination 
  • Manage third party contractors as required 
  • Act as point of contact between upstream stakeholders and mill maintenance team 
  • Attend pre-scheduling meetings and support prioritization of work 
  • Support Superintendent with procurement requests 
  • Request work permits and support team with appropriate risk assessment tools 
  • Perform field leadership activities as directed 
  • Imbed BOS principles and BHP values in regular routines, problem solving, 5S audits 

About You

  • Journeyperson certificate in a Mechanical trade such as Millwright or Pipefitter 
  • 10+ years in mining operations or similar high-paced environment 
  • Self-motivated individual with experience in reactive situations 
  • Supervisor experience is an asset 
  • Potash experience is an asset
