About the Role
Reporting through to the Superintendent Mine Operations at BHP Prominent Hill, these new Mine Coordinator roles will work with the teams to support standards, enhance safety, and enable effective planning by providing high‑quality field information, hazard identification, and verification checks.
With a focus on improving the 24–72 hr plan, strengthening the weekly schedule, and enabling the 2‑week planning horizon, this role ultimately contributes to ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment for all underground personnel.
This role is based in Prominent Hill on a rotating roster 8/6/7/7 day shift / night shift. FIFO is offered from Adelaide or Port Augusta, as well as local DIDO arrangements.
In this role you will:

Support shift supervisors by gathering, validating, and delivering field intelligence that improves daily and short‑range planning.

Reduce supervisor workload by providing accurate, proactive insights for planning, safety, hazards and decision‑making.

Enable the smooth execution of the 24-72hr shift plan and strengthen the 1-3wk planning horizons.

Perform hazard identification, reporting, and escalation.

Conduct inspections in line with legislation and site requirements.
About You
-
Previous experience in an operational underground mining role, preferably with a strong development and production background.

Ability to work independently and autonomously with solid problem resolution focus.

Sound decision-making and ability to prioritise effectively in a complex mining environment.

Strong collaboration and communication skills, to build relationships across BHP teams and primary business partners.

Knowledge of underground mining standards and QAQC processes.

You will demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in 'Safety Leadership' and operational discipline.
