About the Role

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Geology, we are currently seeking Mine Geologists to join our Geoscience team in the Bowen Basin QLD. These important roles are responsible for driving technical excellence through core deliverables, stakeholder engagement and innovative project solutions to enable mine sites to achieve safe, productive and cost effective targets.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Provide geological support across site operational teams
  • Undertake geological data collection, interpretation, validation
  • Collate and deliver monthly reconciliation
  • Have consulting input into mine plans and designs
  • Identify and implement workable solutions regarding geological and/or structural issues
  • Seek solutions to minimise coal loss and dilution
  • Identify and lead mine geology high value projects
  • Continuously improve procedures and processes

 

About You

 

  • Tertiary Education in Geoscience
  • Experience in open pit coal mining
  • Proficiency in structural geology and stratigraphic geological modelling with a safety and customer focus will ensure your success
  • Familiarity with Maptek’s Vulcan and Point Studio software, as well as exposure to geological database software.
  • Experience in reconciliation, block modelling, scripting, or coal quality will also be will be viewed as highly desirable
  • A valid Australian Driver License is a requirement
