About the Role

 

The Geoscience (Iron Ore) team are seeking Mine Geologist to join a safety focussed, technically motivated and results-driven team, working in a positive and inclusive environment. Our team strives to provide targeted, high quality geological interpretations to meet our stakeholder’s needs.

 

Working within a small team and reporting to the Supervisor Mining Geology, core responsibilities include:

 

  • Accurate collection, analysis and interpretation of geological data
  • Delivery of best practice grade control and mining geology core routines
  • Ensures the timely and accurate flow of information from the Geoscience and Exploration Mining Geology function into all customer groups
  • Perform geological model reconciliations and investigate anomalies
  • Support the implementation of RC and STM grade control drilling programs and other technology enhancement projects including downhole assay technology (DHAT),
  • Support the development and delivery of continuous improvement (CI) initiatives that drive value for the Mining Geology, Geoscience and Exploration function and the asset in terms of recurring savings, incremental throughput, safety and/or culture

About You

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geosciences or related discipline 
  • An ability to collect, process and interpret geological data in a mine (and Exploration) setting
  • Strong data analysis and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of industry standard mining and geological software and systems including Vulcan, GIS applications and Leapfrog
  • Minimum of C class manual driver’s license
