About the Role
Caval Ridge is located in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people.
At Caval Ridge, the Mine Scheduling Lead Truck & Shovel / Haulage role at Caval Ridge Mine, you will be responsible for providing design, scheduling and execution direction to the execution team for up to 12 weeks. This role will provide you development opportunities in other Mine Scheduling disciplines with an initial focus on Truck & Shovel design and scheduling.
This technical role requires you to develop effective working relationships with the operational and medium-term scheduling teams, in order to ensure the efficient execution of your plans and schedules. This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant and diverse team.
Reporting to the Mine Scheduling Superintendent, your main responsibilities will be:
- Prepare & communicate Truck & Shovel designs and schedules.
- Develop and follow the Production Planning standards and processes.
- Participate in the investigation of reported events & training for Production Planning
- Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior Mine Scheduling Specialist
- Develop the design for formulation of the budget.
- Build cross-functional relationship with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functions.
About You
Your background in either a similar type of position or environment will see you well placed with the required capability to step into this opportunity. Your ability to communicate is of the upmost importance as well as your relationships skills. It is essential that you demonstrate impeccable safety behaviours and being safety focused is part of your everyday. The role is fly-in fly-out from Brisbane/Cairns to Moranbah with a 8/6 roster so any successful candidate must be comfortable with the roster and working arrangements.
Skills & Requirements:
- You will have a tertiary education in Engineering (Mining / Civil) and previous experience in Mine Planning. Truck & Shovel planning experience is an added advantage.
- You must have communication and interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.
- A strong working knowledge of Deswik and or Vulcan, SPRY, Microsoft Office packages are essential.
