About the role
This permanent role is responsible for providing technical survey and mapping expertise to the underground mine surveying team at Prominent Hill, South Australia.
As the Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling survey activities associated with the mining operation. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a passion for improving mine safety.
Location: Prominent Hill , South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off

In this role you will
- Ensuring accurate and timely completion of survey information and requirements within the underground mine.
- Issuing accurate and timely survey memos to relevant stakeholders.
- Updating and maintaining mine plans for both internal and external regulatory use.
- Adhering to statutory and regulatory requirements related to mine surveying activities.
- Maintaining survey control infrastructure and conducting necessary check traverses.
- Setting out underground exploration drilling accurately.
- Completing production ring mark-ups and stope surveys in a timely manner.
- Working according to underground mine planning standards and processes
About You
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate survey activities and communicate with stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic mining environment.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to integrate well into a collaborative team.
- Passion for mine safety and the ability to be a safety leader.
- Significant experience in underground surveying, demonstrating a strong understanding of underground mining methods and survey systems.
- Proficiency in organizing and completing daily underground survey tasks.
- Experience with Deswik software packages and end-of-month processes and systems.

- Diploma or Degree in Surveying.
- Australian driver's license.
