About the Role
Prominent Hill is a copper-gold mine, a long-life asset, that is part of the BHP South Australia copper province. BHP is a global company with operations in Australia, North and South America across 5 different commodities.

This is where you will play a pivotal role – in the improvement and execution of Prominent Hill’s mine development and production.
Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off
In this role you will:
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of survey information and requirements within the underground mine, including issuing survey memos to relevant stakeholders.
- Update and maintain mine plans for both internal and external regulatory use.
- Adhere to statutory and regulatory requirements related to mine surveying activities.
- Maintain survey control infrastructure and conducting necessary check traverses.
- Complete production ring mark-ups and stope surveys including underground drone flights.
- Work according to underground mine planning and survey standards and processes.
- Collect survey inputs for inclusion in the End Of Month reporting process.
About You
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate survey activities and communicate with stakeholders.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to integrate well into a collaborative team.
- Passion for mine safety and the ability to be a safety leader.
- Previous experience in underground surveying, demonstrating a strong understanding of underground mining methods and survey systems is desirable.
- Proficiency in organising and completing daily underground survey tasks.
- Experience with Deswik software packages and end-of-month processes and systems is desirable.
