About the Role
The Miner Stope Blasting role is an exciting opportunity within the Underground Production Team. This role will see you undertaking stope blasting activities within the Production department to safely and efficiently achieve departmental targets.
In this role you will:
- Supporting safe and productive Drill and Blast activities
- Preparation and charging of production blast holes.
- Pre and post blast checks of production firings.
- Supporting operational requirements through relief coverage in other positions including but not limited to operating ITs,loaders, production drill rigs and magazine keeping.
- Contributing continuous improvement initiatives.
Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7:7 Day/Night Rotation pattern roster arrangement.
About You
- Proven commitment to look after your own well-being and the confidence to speak up when others are in harm's way
- Effective communication skills to develop and promote effective working relationships across the shift and with other departments
- Minimum 2 years working in an underground hard rock environment
- Be able to work with limited supervision, manage time effectively and be highly detail orientated
- Required to provide or be able to obtain a Police Clearance and Blasters License
- Previous experience working with explosives is highly regarded.
