About the Role

Reporting to the Mine Scheduling Superintendent, as a Mine Scheduling Specialist (Weekly Scheduling) at BMA Caval Ridge Mine, you will be responsible for completing the short term schedule (12 weeks) to ensure delivery against business targets and operational demands.

This role will require you to interact with all disciplines in the Mine Scheduling team including truck and shovel, drill and blast and draglines. You will need to ensure a seamless transition from the budget schedule to the weekly planning horizon as well as identifying and resolving interactions. Additionally, you will be required to effectively engage with the operations team to ensure the success of the mine plan.  

The position is based at  BMA Caval Ridge Mine with a 8/6 roster and offers FIFO (via Brisbane or Cairns) / DIDO travel arrangements.

Your responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support the safety culture at Caval Ridge including completion of field leadership and hazard identification.

  • Input of reserves, completion of face updates, equipment sequencing and capacity allocation to ensure accuracy of weekly schedule.

  • Weekly reporting on plan metrics and delivery of short term schedule.

  • Identify and implement production and planning improvement initiatives;

  • Build effective relationships with Mine Scheduling functions and operational teams.

About You

  • You will have a tertiary education in Engineering (Mining / Civil) and previous experience in Mine Planning.
  • Scheduling experience in Spry or similar is preferred.
  • You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.
  • A strong working knowledge of Deswik and or Vulcan, Spry and Microsoft Office programs is essential.
