About the Role

 

We are enthusiastically seeking experienced and compassionate people leaders who thrive on building cohesive, collaborative and high‑performing teams.

 

Your ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across BHP, including the Integrated Remote Operating Centre, Maintenance, Mining, and our downstream Supply Chain teams will be integral to your success.

 

As a proven leader, you will focus on developing team capability and culture, driving frontline improvement initiatives, and building trusted, collaborative relationships across the business.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, we have opportunities available for both a Mining Production Manager and a Processing Production Manager, and we invite applicants interested in either role to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

In these leadership roles, you will:

 

  • Foster an engaged, inclusive and diverse culture where everyone is supported to realise their full potential
  • Translate strategy into the delivery of the operational mine plan, ensuring continuous safe and productive operations
  • Perform Field Leadership activities with a strong focus on safety, risk management and operational discipline
  • Nurture a positive, safe and high‑performance team environment
  • Management of departmental budgets and delivery of cost‑saving initiatives
  • Prioritise employee development through coaching, mentoring, and capability uplift

About You

 

You bring demonstrated experience leading and mentoring large, multidisciplinary teams within a complex operational environment.

 

Your strong background in mining production, supported by broad operational experience will be highly advantageous. Exceptional communication and influencing skills will enable you to quickly build effective, collaborative relationships, while your commitment to safety leadership, continuous improvement and risk management will help maintain our culture of operational and safety excellence.

 

 

We are ideally seeking candidates with:

 

  • Previous experience in a similar role managing large‑scale mining operations
  • Advanced technical knowledge across mining and/or processing operations
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred but not essential)
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, environment and community
  • A track record of delivering results through cohesive, high‑performing teams
  • Leadership behaviours that create an open, inclusive and safe environment
  • Strong communication and consultation skills to build positive relationships
  • An agile mindset with the ability to collaborate and achieve outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.

These positions are offered on a Fly‑In Fly‑Out basis from Perth to Mining Area C, on the following rotation:

4D3X | 5D2X | 4D3X | 9D5X
