Prominent Hill produces one of the highest grades of copper concentrate in the world.  Located 650 kilometres north-west of Adelaide, South Australia, Prominent Hill is part of our Minerals Australia operation. It's made up of underground and surface operations, and is located on the traditional lands of the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara people. About the Role

 

Reporting to the Superintendent – Operations, this role supports the safe and effective execution of underground mining activities through technical input, operational experience, in­field presence and collaboration with contractors and technical teams.

 

You will play a key role in supporting operational delivery, continuous improvement, project execution and readiness activities, ensuring plans are translated into safe and efficient outcomes in the field.

 

Please note this position is based at Prominent Hill on a FIFO from Adelaide or Port Augusta basis, operating on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster pattern arrangement.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Provide operational and technical support to enhance day­to­day underground mining delivery.
  • Assist with project delivery activities, including in­field verification, progress tracking and reporting
  • Work closely with embedded contract partners onsite to support alignment with plans, standards and expectations
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support the implementation of mine plans and operational improvements
  • Support operational readiness activities as required, including commissioning and handover support
  • Maintain a strong field presence to verify work execution, identify issues early and support safe outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve safety, productivity and quality

 

About You

 

You will be an operationally focused mining professional who enjoys working in the field and supporting teams to deliver strong results.

 

You will bring:

 

  • Underground mining experience, with exposure to operational or technical roles
  • Strong understanding of day­-to-­day mining operations and the interface between plans and execution
  • Experience working with contractors and multi­disciplinary teams in an operational environment
  • A proactive approach to safety, risk identification and in­field verification
  • Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to translate observations into actionable insights
