About the Role
Are you ready to get your hands dirty and kickstart a career in the underground mining industry? We are looking for a motivated, high-energy and physical fit Nipper to join our Leinster Underground team.
As a Nipper, you are the backbone of the development crew. You’ll be the "go-to" person ensuring our jumbo operators have exactly what they need, exactly when they need it. This isn't just a support role; it’s the ultimate training ground for future Operators and Driller's roles.
About You
- Valid Manual AU Driver’s License (This is a non-negotiable)
- Authority to work: Australian Citizen or Permanent Visa status
- Physical Fitness: You’re comfortable working in an underground environment and can handle a physically demanding shift. Able to undergo medical examination. Some roles involve physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling
- A "Can-Do" Attitude: You’re proactive, reliable, and don't wait to be told what needs doing next.
- Safety Mindset: A genuine commitment to looking out for yourself and your mates.
What You'll Be Doing
Logistics & Supply: Operating a light vehicle or IT loader to transport gear, and drill steel to the face or drill site.
Site Maintenance: Keeping the drives clear, and ensuring a safe, tidy work environment.
Team Support: Assisting with service crew, scaling, and general off-driller duties.
Safety First: Conducting pre-starts and maintaining BHP’s world-class safety standards every single shift.
