One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 roster, with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available.

 



We are currently inviting applications for an Operations Technician – Mine Fixed Plant. In this position you will help minimize the impact to unplanned downtime and also work on planned day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the materials handling system. 
 

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
  • Ensure all safe work systems, procedures and standards are adhered to through frequent inspection of the workplace
  • Promote and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Provide safe operational skills to perform unplanned or breakdown maintenance in accordance to current processes 
  • Complete inspections of materials handling systems and belts
  • Assist where required in the permit to work system, including helping update documents relating to specific tasks.
  • Provide continual feedback to the Shift Maintenance Supervisors on job progress

About You

 

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way
  • Self-motivated, driven and focused on achieving high performance targets whilst always prioritizing safety first
  • Sound mechanical aptitude will be highly beneficial
  • FL and Bobcat, riggers, dogging and crane ticket advantageous, but not essential
  • Comfortable working in an underground mining environment and around heavy machinery
  • Ability to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
  • Level 2 Authorised Isolator, Job and Area Owner qualified highly beneficial
